Topic: 400F ??

I wonder if anyone has a 400F clutch cable on their bench and can measure for me.

It's for a different purpose but I have a used unlabeled one here measuring 40+1/8" outer, and 45" for the inner cable.

What year?   US-spec '75-'76 are shorter than the '77.

Is this for the 550 race bike?

Checked my 550 cable and you need 3 1/2" of free length.  Sounds like the cable you have has too much FL, and would make adjustment difficult if not impossible.  Just ordered a Motion Pro (I know you don't like them ) for the cafe that is 1 1/2" shorter than stock (p/n 02-0124).  Has a 46" housing, and 49 1/2" inner vs stock 47 1/2 / 51.

Yes this is for my race bike. The cable I have is probably 75 or 76 CB400F but it isn't labelled.

If someone has one to measure I'd appreciate the info.

I have plenty of adjustment so this used cable measures up, just need a new one.

Seems by coincident that there is a 76F parked beside my cafe.

Will be at shop tomorrow, and will check out that cable for you.
