Oil cooler options....

Awesome forum! Wish I found this ages ago! I accidentally posted this in the forsale forum...

Anyhow, Im building a 78' f2 streetfighter probably going with an 836kit from cycle x, w undercut dogs, portedflowed head, and up graded suspension.

I want to run an oil cooler... whats avail other than cycleX's? 

Any help would be appreciated.

Who sells oil cooler adapter plates?  CycleX is the only one I can find in the States - and I can't get them to email me back regarding purchasing one. (No "buy" button next to it.)

do they require you to use a thread on filter?  Or do people on here make them so you can run after market filter can with oem size oil filter?

If I still had a 750 motor I could do you one up, but am geared towards the 650 lineup myself.

I have this oilcooler, do I need a extra long bolt to get it in betwin engine and originalt filter or is it made for a car oilfilter ?

You can use the bolt of a '78 F2.

I have an aftermarket long bolt (CB750F2 style) that has the 17mm head. $10 + $5 S&H

Brand new. I bot it for my CB750K not knowing that it is longer.

Normely we have to pay tax when stuff is coming from US to Europa, so I think it´s cheaper to by it from Germany.

After looking at the pic closely, think you need a adaptor bolt meaning inside and outside threaded. So you can use the normal size filter bolt.

-what about the thermostat ,wen it's closed, it will prevent oil access through the filter !!

The adaptor bolt fastens the adaptor plate to the the engine case (male thread), and its female thread then allows the oil filter housing bolt to attach normally.

When the thermostat closes it blocks the cooler and reroutes back down to the filter. No problem.
