Western Honda it confirmed they have the element. Of course I had ordered an air filter spring as well, and that they don't have. So shipping is double the cost of the element itself.

But at least I will have the correct setup running.

Thanks TT, and Kong for getting me that missing piece.

I gotta check into this.  When I bought my bike ('78 750k) it had pods.  I went back to the stock airbox, but didn't think to do anything with the breather hose.

I've always had my hose hooked back up to the box, but had no idea that I was supposed to have an apparatus like this.

I was lost, but now am found....

Or maybe it's the PO was lost, now I found it. :)

If that's Western Honda in Scottsdale, It wouldn't surprise me that they had one on the shelf. They've been located in that old taco stand since the '60s. If they had to order it, I believe they'd have found (like I did) that it's NLA. The fiche has a lot of NLA parts still showing.

When I spoke to the guy, he was very nice. He said they had the element, but not the other thing I ordered (both were listed in the fiche). He said he had just called around to locate the unavailable part, with no luck, so just sent the one item.

I was cool with that. Nice service, pleasant guy, and I found my part!  Thanks TT
