hi i've only just seen your thread
i have a swinging arm very similar to carpys but it was on my bike when i bought it in 1981 i was under the impression they were made by read titon not dresda but anyway the bearings are taper rollers
the id is slightly larger than the stock swinging arm spindle and a tophat spacer is pushed into the bearing to sleeve it for the spindle and to locate it in the frame
i think he is a bit cheap not to sell the bushes with the swinging arm but there again most of the stuff he sells seems to be designed to appeal to people who are attracted to shiny things

I thought Carpy's swingarms came with brass bushes...

either way the one he sent me aint for a 78 frame so I gave it to my buddy pretty cheap. I'll make my own from titanium way better. I like things light and super strong.

turned out the dyna went bad I think since I pulled the motor and stuck the stock bikes motor in I'll take the head off an send it to Mick R. for a simple port/polish
the motor needed the carbs jetted bigger because of the pods and 4-1 exhaust
the GPS is nice I use it as a speedo it can track long trips too

glad to be able to ride it more than work on it lately...

still need duel disk brakes in front ,rear disk conversion installed, Randakk oil filter adaptor, put the Lester on front, SS seat pan and tail cowl,Ti swingarm, then build out motor/motors

sunday i
went and got the bike with George and his truck and trailer. now I have it right here to work on and clean. after dropping the bike we went to George's house; he got his bike out and got on it and let me ride around the block... all I got to say is that, that is the fastest bike I have ever rode, super-scaryfast. that thing could probably do 200mph with the right sprocket. I rode on the back for a little, he scared the hell out of me. I thought I might die. after that I went home. His girl I could tell was super pissed, but was trying not to show it. He might have the fastest 1978 CB750K in Houston maybe even Texas. I would be glad to make my bike half that fast. It is sick.

mine I think i am going to make my own wiring
this is the thing that gets me nervous I hate
wiring, pretty sure I am going to go with the toecutter front fairing

Nightrider looks like Lemmy with short hair, and Toecutter looks like King Buzzo from the Melvins. . . Best part of Mad Max was Goose's bike, even if it was a "Kwaka" saki. . . "See you on the road, scag". . .

need advice:
1. what kind of electrical components are best ie... reg rec fuseboxs???
2. is it really this hard to get the CR carbs in the boots any tips??? lube??
3. when I got 1 broke spoke should I change them all???

Just order the brand new 1976 wiring harness and forget all the other stuff.
Get a reg/rectifier combo from Ricks Motorsports.
Just go with all 1976. It will be easy and you can get all the parts.

that would work for a 76 but I got a 78!

finished the electrical
got a reg/rec and fuse box
had the right boots sent
ya sent the wheel to Buchanans they sent the wrong spokes they put it together

Answer question#1.
Get the stock OEM fuse box.
Rick's brand regulator rectifier unit combo.
The rest just stock components.
You already have the ignition and coils.

Answer Question#2.
Are the carbs hard to get into the boots?
You will find out as soon as you try.
Don't have anxiety by thinking too far ahead.

Answer Question #3.
Just replace one spoke unless the rest are all rusted.
Inspect all the spokes when the wheel is all apart. THEN decide.
Thinking too far ahead again. Will cause anxiety.

ya I solved all that a long time ago. I'll up date with a full video when I'm ready and I figure out a good camera mounts.
