I lived at drag strips in the 80's through the early 90's. Everyone was an amateur and running 60's, 70's, and early 80's technology on low budgets. There were plenty of guys running two stroke motors but none in chassis like that. Even if it was a one off sort of frame they were not running rigid rear ends. I think I may have laid eyes on a plunger frame bike but most guys were running swing arms.

I did not follow any national bike racing since I was running a 79 Dodge D50 with Ford small block power at the time so there certainly could have been more like the above pictured bike running. I just never saw them in the staging lanes where I ran I guess.

It's my daughter riding it, but what is it?  (I know).
Your picture is titled "Sears"  ;)
I'll guess that it's a Sears and Roebuck.

Your partially right, they were sold through Sears, but were manufactured in France.
It is a 106cc single cylinder 4 stroke.
Anyone know the manufacturer?

I had sure thot Gilera was from Italy..

Re the drag bike frames, typically a lot were midded stock frames..
BUT.. in the early days, the custom ones usualy had almost zero rear stretch and were long on the front, the tire shows the early era. When they started using bigger rubber, things started changing.
Usually back then onbike with big power, the smoked the tire a good portion of the 1/4 mike.. Avons, and M&H...mostly..

Kids? My house is 100 years old and made by Sears. The Puch/ Allstates I've seen are much older. Not sure when Sears quit selling them.
