Hey guys,

I'm about to have my CB 500 k1 motor back together.  What is the least amount of electrical needed to test the engine.  I know nothing about this stuff.  I would like to test the motor out of the frame if possible, any tips on this?  Still have some frame mods and dont want the weight in the frame yet but want to make sure the motor is up and running in case i need to go back inside.

thanks

Put 12v (Battery POS) on the Black/White wires of the coils, and the engine case gets connected to the battery NEG terminal.

Kick start, only.

Wow, that's pretty simple TT.
The coils connect to ground through the points.
And she runs (hopefully :)).

touch the starter cable to the positive batt. terminal and it will save the drama of kicking it on the floor.  Starter grounds through the case also.

I would recommend making sure you get oil pressure before you turn on the fuel.
