Quick Noob Question

Can I split the cases without pulling the rotor?  Silly question, but I'd rather do it tomorrow than order the puller and wait.

Just looked at two of my motors that are semi-apart. Can't see any reason that you can't - looks like everything would clear okay. But you'll have to pull it anyway before reassembly in order to replace the crank seal. And it's gonna be a helluva lot harder to do (without damaging the crank) when it's not cushioned by the cases. Justa thought.

To rebuild the transmission in my 78 750k I did not have to.  I wasn't doing any engine side work though.
