Easiest Way To Access the Wire Harness
« on: January 07, 2011, 11:17:51 PM »
I need to go through the entire harness to make sure all the wires are intact and to figure out why the signals aren't working. Also I have to go through it to figure out why the rear brake light doesn't trigger when i hit the brake.

Most of the connections are inside the headlight bucket. Download the wiring diagram, (find one in color) and take your time. I printed a diagram and glued it to cardboard so I could hang it in easy view.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Patience works wonders,
Work your way through every connector on the bike, pull it appart, clean both ends, reconnect, do the next one.
It's well worth a day doing this on such old bikes, even connectors that look good have often built up a
insulating coating internally.
