Removing tank liner

Is there any product that does this?  Or would one need to know what it is that was applied in the first place?

I've got the same problem with a Norton tank I picked up. Looks like a Kreem liner, has a tan/ biege color to it. The stuff is peeling off the walls of the tank. I think I can get most of it out with various grabbers and someone suggested Methyl Ethyl Ketone to break dowm the rest. Its available in most paint stores but beware its nasty stuff. Eats right through your paint finish and you'll want to keep way far away from ignition scources!

it really depends on what is lining your tank.

with redkote you have to burn it out (have a pro do it).

With kreem, the modern alcohols in fuel break down kreem so it is no longer such a great tank liner. There are some types of alcohol that will cause kreem to break down fast. In the radiator shop we use MEK and it is nasty stuff but works.

Sandblasting the inside of a tank would probably work to remove just about anything but it is long process and has a hard cleanup. You could also try bb gun pellets and some alcohol or a length of chain and close off the tank and shake.
