What model header is this?
« on: December 16, 2010, 08:43:49 PM »
I know this is a 550 header but is this a CB550f header or an aftermarket cb550k header? ??? I bought it from a member on here who said he took it off a k model but I think it is  from the F model. Not a big deal if its F, I will just sell it locally.

Thanks in advance
 Kevin

...so my guess is an ALPHABET header...

Looks like my stock F header. Keep in mind, engines on K & F are same, 'cept for carbs and exhaust.

Thats what I was thinking. The header wont work with my K pedals and kickstart though so I will have to find something else.

How does it intefere with the pedals and kickstart?

I have a 550F header I plan on using on my '71 CB500, but I also will be adding CB400 rear sets and a 550F kicker, so it may not matter.

It has been done, the controls would need to be modified.

So if I use the F right side foot peg, brake and kick start I wont have to use heat to get the pipe to sit in the right place?

I haven't done it and don't remember all the details, try a search. Seem to remember the brake pedal needs to be bent and the kick shortened?
I think it's a great looking pipe and may be worth it if you can do the mods.
