Hey, if my bike's finished by the time the tour hits Michigan I'd love to join in too. I live near Grand Rapids, so I'd join from day 2 to day 5, if you'll have me.

Love to have ya along JKidd!  Please send a PM to Jerry (RXman) to get added to the list.

Current routing will bring the relay close to GR at two points, Hastings and Greenville.  Route subject to change of course.  Day two is kind long.  If anything is trimmed it would be the Greenville stop in favor of a more direct Lansing to Grayling ride.

P.S.  There is a group of "Vintage Rice Burners" that meet up at the Hudsonville Burger King every Thursday evening around 6:30.  Great bunch of guys!  Check it out sometime.

Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Team Michigan? We have a new name, yes? Did this happen recently or am I imagining things?
And the only team named after it's one and only state. We are special!! Anyway...

Welcome aboard JKidd. Hope you can run all the way up and hang with us in the U.P.

I was up til midnight last night finishing the taillight wiring on my bike so I could ride my first commute of the season this morning. It was 25 degrees when I left the house. Heavy frost on everything except the pavement. Good stuff. Supposed to be 48 by the time 5 oclock rolls around. Looking forward to a good season and an awesome relay run!

Hey Fuzz!

I'm hoping to get some riding in by this weekend!  Four bikes, all with issues, most minor - some not so minor, that give me pause to actually take them on the road.  An hour or so of shop time and I should have two of them ready to go!

Yes, the team names have changed a bit.  Jerry and Glenn did a wee bit of housekeeping recently.  Michigan was originally part of Dennis' team Northern, a huge region geographically.  Since I had volunteered to be a coordinator, Dennis gave me Michigan.  I also have Eastern Canada, but chose to coordinate them separately as the forum’s thread merge function woulda made things a bit hard to read.

Should be an AWESOME summer riding season!  And I'll see you in a few months!

Yeah, I'm hoping so too. You know, I've lived in Lower Michigan for all but maybe 3 years of my life so far, and I've yet to even see the Mackinac Bridge, much less go into the UP. So I'm working extra hard on making sure there's nothing stopping me from joining in, because after we pass Gaylord, it's all unexplored areas for me.

My friend, you are in for a treat.
Coincidentally, I've lived in the Eastern U.P. for almost 30 years and have never been further west than Houghton/Hancock---and that only in the winter, so I too am looking forward to some exploring.

Bruce, you are a busy guy. Thanks for all your coordination. Hope these mighty efforts of yours don't cut into your 2 wheel time. I was in that same boat with multiple bikes and none of them ready due to little obnoxious reasons. Hoping over the next couple of weeks to get that changed.

Yep, it gets real messed up when you got two of the same bikes, they both run and ride, one needs a little of this, the other a little of that...and then there are the other two that aren't going any where soon!  ...But regardless, I'm determined to enjoy the fine weather expected this weekend.
If it works good, it looks good...

I'm using this little bit of warm weather to finish putting my bike back together.  All that's left is a fresh coat of paint and a test ride so I'm hoping to be out on the road by the end of next week!  I pulled the winter grille cover off my diesel this morning which means either another blizzard is on it's way or spring is finally here.

Ha! If that blizzard comes at least now we'll know who to blame.

I have been looking through the posts trying to find out when you will be riding the tunnel of trees,(M-119).
I live about 15 minutes from the south end f it and would like to hook up for part of the ride.
Anyway, haven't had any luck finding a date.
Has a date been set yet?

No hard dates yet Scrap, but keep an eye on the thread below (specifically the PDF file in post #1) for the latest schedule and Zilla tracking data!

An amazing convergence of crazy good timing and the rarest sort of luck and an unprecedented alignment of stars would have to take place in order to make it happen, but wouldn't it be outrageously cool if the Ride were to be in Sault Ste. Marie on Friday August 5th for this little happening? Absolutely unlikely, I realize, but I just wanted to share my fondest hopes and dreams with ya'll.

Anyway it's going to be a sweet little bike show if anyone's going to be in the neighborhood regardless.

Well if you need a place to flop, Bob, let me know!   I usually participate in the ride on Saturday and the show on Sunday.  I really don't have a show-worthy bike, but I put one in anyway.

Hey Sean!

I talked to Eric the other day.  We all need to get together some time for a shop night and/or a putt!

Wife and I went a couple of years ago.  A very nice place, much to see. LOTS of bikes to see and hear.  Had a great time.

I didnt read the whole thread but see a trip over the bridge is happening.   Need many pics of that.   Maybe next year a trip to dads is in order to ride in that leg also.  Idea at the soo locks there is a museum ship with a lifeboat from the Fitz.

Great ideas 650!  I'm hoping to record a video as we go over the bridge :D  don't tell anyone in case it doesn't turn out LOL!  We're planning to overnight at the locks, so a stop by the museum may be in order.  What do you think Fuzzy?

For the ride over the bridge, if you're brave enough  :), ride in the left lane and point the camera down.  ;D
