Hey! Someone else in Cape Town, whoohoo! Whereabouts are you? I'm Southern Suburbs (Marina da Gama).

I need to order some stuff from DSS so let me know if you want to share shipping (probably only in August/September though).

I'm in Kenilworth.

I just ordered some rearsets and side covers from TT. I'll have a look on DCC to see if there's some things I need. Def keen to share shipping. I have a few other people here in CT also working on old Hondas.  Not SOHC though but I'll see if they want to get involved too.

Wow!
There has been a lot going on! I am very glad to hear that there are so many more of us!

@01Thomas - So good to chat, I shall be calling you soon for a visit and a chat when it's convenient.

@CB-Cape - I have ordered of cmsnl.com and they were quick and very professional!
No issues with stock not arriving, as and Charlatan said, ask them to package your parts with a clear label to avoid those imports!

@TimD550 - Sorry man, I have no idea for Johannesburg, maybe ask on the Wilddog or Think Bike forums, or alternatively contact one of the classic motorcycle clubs.
If you reeeeaaaaally want it to be original, check our David Silver Spares as you can buy a new seat for R2500-3000 I think.

@Mr. Paynter: Cool... When you're ready.

@everyone else: I recently bought a joblot of CB750 SOHC spares. For example: No crankshafts, no pistons or conrods but plenty of camshafts, engine cases ( K0 and newer), fuel tanks, seats (F1-type), carbs and lots of transmission spares. Tell me what you need and I'll have a look.

Not sure if any of you guys have seen this:
http://www.gumtree.co.za/cp-motorcycles-scooters-in-west-rand/honda-cb-750-k4-513004088

Looks really neat, but a bit on the pricey side unless you're a well-heeled collector. If I had the cash I would be making space in the garage!

Beautiful (except for the black rims)

Certainly a better bet than this basket case: http://www.gumtree.co.za/cp-motorcycles-scooters-in-langebaan-and-saldanha/1974-honda-cb-550-four-508753017

You're no stranger to the polishing wheel Charlatan, that looks like the one for you  :P

Is it just me or are there two different sets of bars on the bike in those photos?

Well spotted there. Clubmans on the one pic.

I bought my parts bike for R3500, also complete, with stuck motor, original 4-into-4s, but with much less rust!

Looks like a good buy,  it's very original except for the pipes and the shocks (both are consumables in my book).

Yes. I think I'll try and get this one back to "Stock" and leave my 400 as the experiment.
Picking it up tomorrow!

A very good buy!
I have finally got my project home and wrapped up my part-time studies so it is time to start digging in after I get back from Mossel Bay next week.

Lots to do! More than I remember if I am honest, but I am excited to get cracking.

I will be pouring over the forums for the advice I will be needing for sure.

Nice one. I'm confused though isn't the 73 the K0?  Nevermind I'm thinking of the 550.

Awful cowcatcher handlebars but it looks OK otherwise.

I've just gone according to the years as laid out on www.cmsnl.com, not 100% sure myself.

Awful cowcatcher handlebars but it looks OK otherwise.

Yes, they are rather horrid, they were quite an experience riding her home, just the PO's long strip-road driveway in the dark was an adventure.
I am definitely in the market for bars!

Hi Guys.

I'm planning on ordering some spares from David Silver US. If anyone wants any parts maybe we can do a batch order and save on some postage?

DM me and we can take it from there.

Hi guys.  In Cape Town for a week.  I have 2 mates here that visit me in San Diego every year.  They want to start their own builds here in Cape Town after shipping back a couple of bikes from the states.  They have a shop in False Bay.  PM me and I'll hook you guys up with each other.

Cheers!
