Well I took The Beast out the other night and rode downtown and cruzed around and all went well but I could tell the bike was getting hot. We went and strated heading back home and she started acting up above about 5500 rpm, hacking and coughing, took it easy and kept her moving and after a while of that all was well. I had been running the non-vented cover all summer but other than that night all my rides had been on the interstate or in the suburbs where you can keep moving. I'm going to call Ken tommorrow and see what he wants to do next. I have plans to do some major work this fall and I'd like to have this resolved by then so I can get everything done over the winter and not have to worry about this next spring.

On 8/4 I spoke with Ken at Cycle X and like I said he was great about telling me to send back the unit when I get the replacement.  I called 8/16 because I still had not received my replacement unit.  The replacement unit was never sent! BUMMER  No reason why.  During the first call, I also ordered a Trans gasket for $8.50 and they said they would just send it out in the same box at no extra shipping cost.
So tonight I checked my bank account and they charged me $18.50, now I am giving them the benifit of the doubt that it was a mistake, but I do not want to find out they are trying to charge me for shipping of the replacement unit.  Not only will I be miffed, but I will be very less tolerant of any issues with replacement unit.  Sure, its only $10 bucks, but that is not the point.  That being said, I have full confidence that it was simply a mistake, because everytime I have dealt with CycleX they have been great.

So, that being said, I have been running my cover full vent, meaning 2 large vents and also shimming the cover out about 1/8".  Today I rode in from Ft Collins to Lafayette in 95 degree heat.  Ran great, no issues, but far from a stock cover fully sealed to the motor!!

I am moving to California next week and I am very curious if there could be any issues with the unit at altitude.  I suppose that if the replacement unit doesn't show up I can swap it once I am in CA.  I cant imagine the altitude would create that much of an issue, but the only 2 people who have chimed in have been in CO.....hmmmmmmmm

I would LOVE to hear from ANYONE who has this PowerArc unit and to hear if they have had any issues??????? Please even if you haven't had any issues!!

Lastly, I have been waiting to changing my jets until I moved.  I am running a tad rich with 140 mains and drilled out idle jets.  I am expecting that my richness will improve at sea level so I may be set.  I am curious, slightly lazy in not searching to find out if there is a calculation that can be used to determine jet changes from altitude to sea level and back.  I'm sure there is a formula based on air density of altitude down to sealevel.
For example if you are 10% less air density at a set altitude to sea level, would you increase 10% of your jet size going from altitude to sea level?  I am sure I will be able to see how it runs and rejet based on how its running at sea level, but was wondering if people had thoughts??

Anyway, I am moving to Petaluma CA to if there is anyone out there who wants to go for a ride, PM me.
Now, should I change my screen name...........

Talked to them on a Monday when this problem started ad they said they'd get one out asap, didn't send it out until Thursday. Still rather deal with them then most others when I have a problem.

I called Cyclex today and let them know about the additional amount run on my credit card.  Its not the extra $10 bucks that was added, I wouldnt really care if they said something about it.  I didnt hear from them like they said I would, and the refund hasn't hit my account.  To me, its the principal behind it.

Even if I have to take it for another 10 bucks I still will give them the bennefit of the doubt, but really hope they spend a few minutes to make sure a multi-time customer is taken care of, thats what matters to me most.  Especially since I didn't get it shipped the first time I spoke with Ken.  I know, I know, give them a break, they are busy, but hey, business is business.
