Keihin CR 29 carbs
« on: January 26, 2011, 12:23:09 PM »
I guess I'm not as familiar with these carbs as I thought I was.

I noticed that on the sides of #3 and #4 carbs there are these extra spigots:

I thought they might have been the carb bowl vent/overflow outlet but noticed that they are not present on carbs #1 and #2. Looking at the bottom, there are no vents:

I haven't confused these with the fuel inlets because I know where they are. Can anyone tell me what these two extra nozzles are for?
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.

Pictures are small, but I think you are talking about the air intakes for the choke circuit. There should be one on all four carbs, unless the design has been changed in the past 8 years???

All the CR29 I have seen have them on all four carbs. Odd!

They do swivel, so maybe the other two are just pointed up/forward and are not visible from underneath?

They do swivel but I swear there aren't any on carbs 1 & 2.
I'll take a closer look and post some larger pics.
Thanks in advance.

Trust me, you have them on all 4 carbs.  Otherwise the carb bank would not work.

I do trust you. I had to put on 3x magnifiers to actually see the ones on 1 & 2.
Anyways, here's the better picture:

So they do look like the air intakes for the choke circuits. Since they swivel 360 degrees, I'm wondering if there is an ideal position for them?
