Oversized pistons/skirts CB400
« on: March 03, 2011, 02:36:47 AM »
Hi,

The pistons from Wiseco and Yoshimura seems to be 54.5mm. The guy who is going to assemble my engine says the wall thickness of the sleeves will be to thin. Have anybody fitted these before without replacing the sleeves and engine case work.
This guy prepares superbike engines so I think he knows whats he's talking about :)

Perhaps the best person to ask is Kevin in South Africa (TTR400) http://www.ttr400.com/

They must be thin to start with if they won't stand 3.5mm out of them. When you think about it, It's only 1.75mm all round. If it does work, your capacity will be 466.6cc.

you can use the standard barrels for the 460 conversion but would not advise for full 500 (56.5mm)
go to 'MY CB400' (Page 2 on forum) and read last post on first page. ;)
