FYI: Honda NOS Parts Search Engine
« on: April 21, 2006, 06:19:42 AM »
Hi all,
A friend of mine has put together a comprehensive search engine for NOS SOHC parts. You can enter part numbers or select a bike model and search 4 different companies at once to compare prices. Bettencourts also has a parts diagram so you can see the part/part number and price.

Honda NOS Parts Search Engine. The URL is:

http://www.hondarestoration.com/parts_search/nosPartsSearch.htm

Any suggestions to improve it contact Steve through www.hondarestoration.com

Cheers

OK, I must be doing this wrong. I went to the page with the beta version of the search. I have a parts list for my K0 so I should be able to just enter the part number and it will search and compare prices if the part is available, correct? I tried several that I know Servicehonda indicates they have in their data base (whether or not actually in stock, but that's another story). Always comes back not found. Finally tried the part number for an oil pan gasket since I have ordered that in the past, same result. What am I doing wrong?
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

I just tried the oil pan gasket search using part # 11398-300-306 and if you scroll down you willl see that Bettencourts has it for ~$10 and CMS have it for 7.50 Euros.

Not quite sure what you were doing wrong. I entered the part # and that was it. Also you can search under bike - CB750K0/K1 and CMS at least lists all the gaskets etc they have...Bettencourts should as well.

Hope this helps

works great for me too.
Never come across Bettencourts before, they seem to have an excellent range of stock.

Andy,

Even tried it again with your successful part number, no luck. I sent an eMail to Steve with a screen shot to see if he can tell me what I have done wrong. I did notice his XXX example of part numbers is formatted differently than the parts numbers in my parts list (tried both ways just for the heck of it, still not found).
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Hi Bob,
Im sure Steve will appreciate the feedback on his Beta system. Hes trying to assemble a huge parts database of new (current system) and eventually used parts...so eventually it will be very powerful when it works. Knowing Steve he will work very hard to iron out these current issues and will welcome any suggestions to improve.

Have a good weekend,
Andy in Boston

Steve solved my problem, I inadvertantly allowed a space at the end of the part number. Cool tool.  ;)

I remember John Bettencourt. Is this the same family business?
