Touch-up paint?
« on: April 06, 2006, 08:22:12 PM »
I'm not looking for a full paint job, I just want to touch-up some bad spots on my tank.  Translation: cheap home remedy with no expectations of perfection.  It seems sound, but I patched a pinhole on the bottom, so I suspect it may end up swiss-cheese; thus - cheap.  It's original factory gold and white paint.  I know that certain paints shouldn't be mixed, and matching the colors will be a pain.  Anyone have any suggestions or paint brands/models that work?  Or is this a case of all-or-nothing?

I've had good luck with the paint pens from DupliColor, which are designed to touch up car paintwork.

I assume they're standar auto-part store fare?  Or do I have to go somewhere special?

I get 'em at Pep Boys, which in my neck of the woods is pretty darn universal. You can also go to DupliColor.com.
