New member With Tire Question
« on: April 09, 2006, 09:14:33 AM »
I recently purchased my first CB750 K4 and wish to retain it's originality as much as possible. It cannot be ridden until the tires are replaced and I don't have a clue about replacement tires. The local Honda dealer suggested using the Continental tires: Models K112 and RB2 as they would be a similar match to the original Honda tires both in size and appearance. They look fine to me as the bike will be used a Sunday rider.

Is there any reason not to use them?  :-\

Thanks!

If you want to keep the tires correct for the general era of the bike K81/TT100's were a "performance" replacement tire at the time. They look more aggressive and seem to hang in there well. My '71 handles well with them on and when I was much younger it handled real well with them on.
Go here and scrool down to the K81 blurb.  http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/tirecatalog_category.asp?id=9

I wouldn’t use any other tyre than a TT100 they have period tread pattern, but modern compounds  ;D
