Hello All,

I have done some searching so if I missed this I am sorry. I need to know how much fuel line to get for my 75' CB550. I cannot figure out how much 5.5 (fuel) and 3.5 (drain) id tubing to get. My lines were so dry that if you touched them they just broke apart so I have nothing to measure. Any help would be great. Thanks.

If you find some that fits good and isn't aquarium tubing just buy more than you need so you will have some extra around.Might as well get a few feet.

I found some quality lines for not a lot of money. I just have no idea how much of it to get??? Do I get 5 ft,10ft... How much drain line? What is the stock length for these tubes?

+1 on ordering extra. I had a hell of a time finding it.

I ordered 3 feet of gas and I think 4 feet of drain. I definitely didn't use it all.

Where did you find it?

Found the tubing at McMaster-Carr. I have purchased stuff from them before for my truck. Tubes are little big but with some stainless steel clips it should be all good.

Those links didn't work for me, but I found the site. When you say "a little big," do you mean they are not 5.5mm? I had some real trouble with hose that was not metric, but it was also the clear type. Started leaking all over the place! Actually, more like pouring all over the place!!!!

You might be ok with the rubber type and clamps, but for sure would be safe with the proper size hose.

I found some correct size hose on eBay.

If you can find the exact metric measurement for the fuel lines, I'd recommend it. I would think the drain hoses would be less important.

As I said, my experience may have turned out much better with rubber hose, but if possible, stock would be best.

There is an eBay seller called bestpartsseller who has fuel line, but it's also not metric. The ID is 7/32"

I couldn't find the guy I got mine from, but I think that's about as close as it gets.

If you guys will just walk into your local Honda dealer, you can order the genuine article, and in correct sizes. And you won't even need clips to keep it on. Nobody - and I mean nobody - who advertises metric fuel hose actually sells metric fuel hose. They just give you the metric equivalent of the SAE measurement. That 1/4" ID McMaster hose is 6.3mm. Way too big. That's why you need clips to keep it on, and it'll still probably leak.

Stu, totally agree about the size, except the three dealers here in NYC said no, had to order it. And try were rude. I was asking about metric. So they COULD have pointed me at the 7/32" easy enough.

So I just found it online.

Yeah, I'll throw in an additional heads up that the 1/4" fuel line is just too big. Find the right size.

Unless my math is totally off (very possible), the 7/32" nets out the be about 5.55 mm. That .05mm off.

That's a lot closer that 1/4" (6.3mm or so). I know the 1mm seems insignificant, but if you had seen the amount of gas pouring out of my hose, you'd understand.

Your math is correct. I've just never seen fuel line offered in 7/32. But the thing I like about the genuine Honda stuff, aside from the fact that it fits, is that it stays soft for a very long time. And it's really no more expensive than the aftermarket brands. But, whatever floats your boat...

I hear ya guys on the size with the 1/4".

Any one have any experience with tubing from here:

Almost at the bottom of the page is some tubing that is 7/32" (5.5mm) and 5/32" (3.5mm)

One tough part is finding the right size without going crazy and the other tough part is finding it in a short enough length.

I heard O'Rielly's might have it, I need to check on that.

Granted, $14 + shipping is steep, but no auto store near me had it. Honda didn't seem willing to help. So I dropped the cash at ebay to know that I'd had a solid run of stock hose, and no more leaks.

The link above is for 28" of the stuff. enough for the typical run. More than you need if you run the dreaded in-line filters.

, the ID was usually 1/4". And after my disaster with the first 1/4" line, I wanted no part of that.

I think you are right though, if it's the typical rubbery hose, it should grip much better than the clear type I had. I can't speak to that from personal experience.

Yup, the gray stuff. Not sure how much. Can't seem to find it at the moment. I emailed them to get more info. Looks like they are based in Los Angeles. I will post up what I get back from them.

Ok, so the stuff is not cheap but seems to be very high quality.

They come pre-cut in meter lengths. Looks like Kitaco brand fuel hose from Japan.

3.5mm id: 009-060M is $13.82 a meter.
5.5mm id: 009-061M is $15.82 a meter.
