1974 CB750 stuck alternator rotor
« on: April 10, 2011, 10:50:23 AM »
If I am trying to pull a stuck alternator rotor with a three-legged sprocket puller can I push against the reinserted center bolt (after removing the washer) or is this working against itself?

Monk you need a tool. I have send along a picture to show you what it is. You just screw it in the rotor and it will pop right off. They are not that expensive either and saves time and trouble.

Thanks for the reply.  I was trying to avoid buying the tool you mentioned.  The rotor did finally come off after two days of heart ache (I would have been better off getting the tool in the first place).  I hope I haven't cause any damage using my method.  Thanks again.
