ARD mag not making spark

the bike ran fine when parked has been sitting for 20yr no spark i took cap off and cleaned looks good belt looks good. you guy have some ideas???

  You should check the points, make sure that the gap is correct. Also it could be a bad condensor.  These earlier A.R.D. magneto's use the Fairbanks Morse magneto head.  Parts are easily available from tractor supply houses.   ;)

thanks so take it off the motor points with mag?? i got tdc marks are right on rotor is at #1 got that. now what do i take apart to fix?

was looking more into the mag and if i take cap of with the to bolts then take the 4 bolts and split mag open  that will get my to points? and condensor right?? putting back together wont change thing right?

 I my self have no experience with the Fairbanks Morse magnetos. You'll have to do a google search for info or call some repair shops.   Here's another great site for you to contact ........... http://standardmagneto.com/   ::)

thanks got all parts coming. now i know how it all works. i'll post some pics. I got the bike from a good friend that had a welding shop in the 70's he made the hole thing my dad was a custom painter he painted the bike in 73 the bike sat in basement for 29yr and called me and told me it was up for sale. so now it's mine......

He is familiar with the ARDs and he did the rebuild on mine
