Topic: 18" front wheels on 69-75 CB750s

Does anyone have any experience with this setup? The CR750 had an 18" front; I've heard of people using cb500 triple trees to change trail - any knowledge on this?

Well, I guess that's why the CR750 fender looks silly on my bike.

It's an easy-to-miss nuance - you seldom see anybody identify the front as an 18". But if you do a close-up on a real CR the fender always has a gap on top...

All the CR's I've seen (Leibmann, Long, etc.) had 18's.

Using the CB500 triple tree increases the trail for better high-speed stability. For roadracing, nimbleness was then improved by using the 18" front wheel to reduce unsprung weight, gyroscopic effect, and reduce the increased trail a little bit.

Stock CB750 trail is 3.75". I think I remember the trail being 4.1" with the 500 trees and 19" wheel, slightly less with the 18" wheel.

I have an 18 front on mine. No problems at all.
