You could. It will physically go on. But, a 530 chain like what is on the stock bike, is wider when an oring type. This width is so close to the engine case that any sloppiness allows the chain to cut into the engine case.
Some people have switched to a 520 o ring chain. Which, in its o ring configuration is as wide and the non-oring 530 type. You will have to get replacement sprockets for this chain as the sprocket teeth are narrower than those for the 530.
