you want to buget 200 for tyres, and its a total rebuild /remodel,, engine rebuild etc, plan A soon becomes plan b,c etc on these,if your engine is running ok id do the frame/ brakes/spokes/paint and do the engine last, this is your first bike?as soon as you pull the engine down your budget will go plan z.

I tried to do the samething on my 1974 CB750 and at the end of the day I went with newer style tires. They look great on the bike and the handling is very good. these are Avon Road Rider AM26 Motorcycle Tires. I put the metric replacement sizes front and rear. they look out standing.

Try this place for tires. They seem to have fair pricing. When I bought mine there was free shipping and a sale going on.

if handling isnt a worry you can always use a front drum brake hub say from an early cb450 twin and make it even more cafe?chicks dig a front drum brake.

I'm doing this exact same thing with my 750 bobber project that I'm building...
And when questioned on my reasoning for such a decision, my answer:  "screw handling and braking, chicks dig the look of drums"
