I'm not sure if I'll end up with rearsets, but I recently became obsessed with them.  For a set that would require fabricating parts, I think you might be better off with a reputable company like Dime City Cycles.  They have been good to me.

After a bunch of research, and since I don't fab parts, I ended up at Fast From the Past, which sells direct bolt on sets for our bikes.  They get good reviews.

They look fine, i would use them, and if damaged he will sell individual parts to fix, thats a bonus....He also has 100% feedback so i doubt you will have much trouble....

I think it was the going back and forth with a French manufacturer that seemed like it might be a hassle for me.

There is a guy making a basic set - offered on the Do The Ton website too. $90 for the set (little extra for linkages etc). Didn't read the whole thread to see what the feedback was. Might be worth checking out.

I've seen them or one like them before. What I think makes them better that the TC Bros universal reaersets is the curve in the toe piece arm. It reduces the likelihood of the pedal banging into linkages you make up which was an ongoing battle when I tried to use the TC Bros. set. Plus these are cheaper.
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.

Ive talked with that guy. His arent adjustable and require fabbing the frame mounts. but I also saw some on ebay from china that looked decent for around 200. I dont have the link available right now though.

Am I wrong, or do all the cheaper ones require fabbing frame mounts?

It seemed to me that the big difference between the choices is bolt on (everything you need complete) or the universal that requires some mounts and for you to put the linkages together.

But that is just from doing some initial online searching.

The ones that I have seen that are bolt on dont seem to be very strong, so they snap off, or the kick start isnt useable afterwards. on top of being ~$400. the ones I saw on ebay were replacements for the cbr that the ohio cafe racer guy recommends using for his weld free setup.

Yeah, if I sprung $300 on tarozzi's and they broke, I'd be pretty pissed.

As I said, I recently got obsessed with the idea of a peg position slightly back from where the stock is, but just started looking around.

I saw the Ohio Racer FAQ but didn't see any CBR sets available when I looked. Are you saying the Chinese made ones are replacements for the CBR?

Chimey, if you end up getting the ones from the OP, let us know how they hold up. I don't know anyone who has used the ones at Dime City either, which are much closer in price, and domestic.

Thanks for all the info folks.

yeah theyre chinese replacements for the cbr. they had them in black and silver. seemed like a reputable company. high feedback numbers... but still chinese. my bikes broken so im not going to get them any time soon, but I'm the kind of guy that goes chinese first and spends more money if its necessary.

Thanks for all the great input guys. I ended up buying the ebay ones, now just waiting on shipment from France. I'll keep everyone posted. The look moderately like the motobits one after some more research so i assume they will be a quality product, but who knows at this point.
