So i finaly got the starter working, but i don't have the stock start button in the RH control(blame PO). So im into arcade and such and the electrical on pinball and arcade is the same as on a motorcycle. so i installed a cherry micro switch and a 1 player start button for my 1 player cafe bike.

That's one of the coolest looking mods I've ever seen.
Would be cool if you saw something like this after you pushed it.

thats pretty fresh. is that a stock gauge for something? Ironicly i am building a LED tachometer because i removed the stock gauges due to cable failure. both in a week. i replaced the speedo with a sigma 1106, and building the led tach is cheaper than a new cable. here is the dash at night. the blue is my voltage meter, green is speedo illum.

That's pretty nice. What did you use for the blackberry mount? I want to mount my phone and run an outlet to charge it like that too.

its a hard case for the pre curve blackberrys, with some vinyl to hold it in place, which also lets me operate my touchpad thingy with gloves. the arm thingy came of a jewlers vice, and its bolted to the windscreen. i suggest a 12v relay in line with your outlet so you dont fry an inverter

right now i have a m2r and i dont love it. i recommend a KBC Magnum. Thats what i crashed and i loved it. the m2r is a little crowded at the mouth. in any sense, make sure its snell rated as well as dot

sorry, i started with a basic motorola bluetooth earpiece, a .5 amp audio amplifier, a1 inch speaker and a small microphone, cracked open, chopped soldered, hot glue, and built it into the helmet. im working on an in helmet hud speedometer this week

Awesome idea for a push start. Currently I have the same problem with my starter button, I bought a cheap plastic push switch and tried connecting it to the starter solenoid via a 25amp fuse, I keep blowing fuses, so I removed the fuse and ran it straight only to heat up the wires and switch to the point of melting.
So my question is this, am I using too low of a gauge wire? Is the switch not tough enough, or is there too much power off the solenoid to hook up a switch?

i ran it through the original wires. red black, yellow red. i would use 16-18 gauge wire. also i dont understand why its such a high fuse there. 15a is the fuse i use for all three. also switches have rating too, but almost any switch can handle the 12v to the magnetic switch for the starter. hmmmm....are you running the switch through the solenoid or straight to the starter?

I recently replaced my start button. I have the 1976 CB750, whose start button will inevitably break. I used a mini SPDT rated for 3Amp at 125VAC from Radio Shack to replace it. My local RS only had the On/On pushbutton, but there is a momentary pushbutton on their website:

. It works quite well, I just had to solder the wires from the old switch to the new, wedge it into the housing and use the supplied washer and nut to hold it in place!
