Front caliper...
The cb900f has the short mounting arm for the cb750f forks but the cb900c bike used a different fork with long mounting bracket. Both used the twin piston caliper and they will fit either mounting bracket.
Just a bit of data from the CX and GL bike forum members who had performed this upgrade...

Does this upgrade work with the 75/76 F0/F1 bikes? Seems like the back would be okay, just not sure about the front... and just the one side on the front, of course.
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.

F0 and F1 have wire wheels and different calipers so this upgrade will not work.

The disc on the f0/f1 is the same 6 bolt disc on the 1969-1975 k bikes. The 77-78 f2/f3 uses a five lug rotor that is smaller in diameter and thinner. I suppose you could turn a 6 lug rotor down to the 5 lug dimensions and then use 77-78 fork legs, but remember that f0/f1 rotor is stainless and it will take a long time and cost a fortune.

If I were you I would contact a company like EBC and see if the have a rotor that is 6 lug but with the 5 lug rotor dimensions. If the do, then you keep your spoke wheel and buy a 77/78 pair of forks. Then you can use these calipers.

I just bought some dual piston calipers and brackets off of a 83 cb650. On that list that someone posted, it said the calipers will work, but I don't recall seeing the brackets listed. They look identical to all the other ones. Am I going to have to get other brackets too?

Worth a shot to see of they will work.
If they do please add them to the list.

I really don't know the 650s very well.

You will love the upgrade once it's done

Just got a left caliper bracket off of a 82 cb750f. There's no way that this bracket will work when swapping to a 78 super sport. That should probably be noted on the list so that someone else doesn't waste their $20 like I did.

Either you don't have a 1982 cb750f caliper bracket or you aren't installing it correctly. I've pulled those brackets off 82 750f bikes before and had no issue. Post a pic of the bracket.

Me thinks you are the victim of a bad listing, or someone at some point swapping parts around on a bike.
While im not 100%, that looks like the bracket off a magna/saber or CB750C.

looks identical to this one for the 1982 "C" model:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/82-Honda-CB750-CB-750-Right-Front-Brake-Caliper-Bracket-/310296682886?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item483f1fa186&vxp=mtr#ht_553wt_772

Nothing in the C brakes shares a part number with what's in the F brakes. so yeah, it won't work.

Jaguar's 100% correct about this:

Most people selling this stuff on ebay aren't always saavy. With any custom application it always pays to buy a much complete stuff as you can and to do it in person if possible (so you can match it up and fit it). Also it doesn't hurt to do a little parts number research to see what other bikes share the same part numbers. I posted it in the other thread what bikes all share the part number for the caliper brackets and some of them frankly surprised me. I guess I'll find that thread and post the info here too.

copied from my other post:

ok, I went to parts fish and reverse looked up the parts number for the left hand 1981/82 cb750F caliper bracket and these are the results it gave me:

1981 CB400T A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1981 CB750F A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1981 CB900F A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1981 CM400C A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1982 CB750F A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1982 CB900F A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1982 CM450A A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1982 CM450C A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1982 GL1100 A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1982 GL1100I A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1983 GL650 A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1983 GL650I A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1985 VT1100C A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1985 VT1100C AC - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1986 CB450SC A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1986 CB450SC AC - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1986 CMX450C A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1986 CMX450C AC - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1986 VT1100C A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1986 VT1100C AC - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER

In theory these are all the bikes that used the part with the same part number as the 1981-1982 cb750F. I say in theory because there may be some manufacturing differences that weren't tracked in honda's system way back before computers.

I did the same thing for the right caliper bracket and these are the bikes that used a right caliper bracket the same as the 1981-1982 cb750F:

1981 CB750F A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1981 CB900F A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1982 CB750F A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1982 CB900F A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1982 GL1100 A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1982 GL1100I A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1982 VF750S A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1983 GL650 A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1983 GL650I A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1983 VF750F A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1983 VF750S A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1984 CB700SC A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1984 CB700SC AC - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1984 VF700F A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1984 VF700F AC - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1984 VF700S A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1984 VF700S AC - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1984 VF750F A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1984 VF750F AC - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1985 CB700SC A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1985 CB700SC AC - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1985 VF700S A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1985 VF700S AC - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1985 VT1100C A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1985 VT1100C AC - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1986 CB700SC A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1986 CB700SC AC - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1986 VT1100C A - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
1986 VT1100C AC - FRONT BRAKE CALIPER

same caveat applies as before - match it up in person before you buy.

In case you want to know:
45210-445-632 = BRACKET, Right Front.
45110-445-632 = BRACKET, Left Front.

if you are going to buy over the internet, I suggest getting measurements of the distance between all the bolt holes (around the perimeter and then across the body) before actually purchasing. However, try to find an old local shop and physically make sure the part is the right size before buying.

something else to point out on the above list - there are a lot more dual disc bikes that use the right caliper bracket than the left. 1983-1985 750 interceptors are a prime example. Does the left side interceptor bracket work? who knows? you can't assume anything with these parts.

Defiantly not off a 82 F as those work 100%

Really one should buy the calipers and brackets off the same bike at the same time.
Makes things a lot easier.

This did not apply to my current situation. The calipers (which are on the list) came off of a bike with brackets that are not one the list. So piecing together was my only option.

yup, there was lots of swapping parts "back in the day" with bikes just as there is today, but used replacement parts weren't as commonly available. Someone may have bodged it to get it to work and then when the seller listed it, he didn't include the bodge pieces. I've bought sets before where when it arrives there are homemade brackets in the box because the calipers were on something else at one point and those pieces weren't shown in the listing.

It is also entirely possible there are production run changes that weren't tracked in honda's system way back when and there are small batches of parts that don't fit due to some minute change to the caliper, or bracket, or fork leg, or all of the above.

What about them doesn't fit?  I've done this swap about 4-5 times on my own bikes and have two more to do before the end of the year. I have a private stash of sets I have collected over the years and have even bought whole parts bikes just for the brakes. I also have a bin of stuff I bought that I thought would fit because I thought it was the right part but turned out to just be just slightly off. As I pointed out above there are plenty of bikes that use one bracket or the other but not both and even then only for 1 year. Honda used those calipers on a lot of bikes with different brackets to attach them and different diameter rotors they needed to accomidate, it's easy for a seller to look up what the calipers look like and assume all the brackets are the same and list them for the first one they matched in pics. I guess my point is - try to know the source when you can, don't take a seller's word for it.

What about them doesn't fit?

The mounting holes for the fork are spaced too far apart. It actually looks like a reverse copy of the right bracket from the cb650 I got the calipers from. Anyways, the eBay seller refunded my money and told me to just keep the part. So no harm really done on this purchase.

excellent. glad it worked out. IIRC cb650s used these brakes in 1982 but the forks are different so they would have a different mounting bracket.

Calipers are the easy bit these days to find.  Mostly because lots of other honda calipers share the same mounting points.  Like I posted you can find 30 and 32mm pistons and all different outside markings.  The brackets are slightly harder.
1982 CB750F brackets/calipers works 100000%
Obviously this only counts in factor parts, so just because something is on a 82 now doesn't mean its original.  Nor does it mean eBay sellers know the difference between F C and K bikes parts.

Yes honda used the bracket on one side for many more bikes then the other, this opens up doors.

sent this as a PM to someone but then realized it is probably valuable information to this thread:

To do the twin caliper on the rear you need the caliper bracket (that goes around the axle), the caliper and the banjo bolts. I recommend the torque arm too but there is a VFR inteceptor aluminum arm that some of the DOHC guys like to swap out for because it looks trick (I forget the year VFR - 1984 I think, it is the one with a clevis at both ends). Again I recommend finding one off a 1981-82 750F but I will post the part number and bikes that use it below. Unfortunatly it is a much smaller number of bikes. Honda has two diferent part numbers for the bracket itself - I assume this one: 43110-445-632 is a revision number in the part but I don't know what the changes are - it shouldn't make a difference. I can tell you that Honda used the same rear axle diameter all the way to the first generation cbr 1000s. I have a 1986 VFR 4.5 inch rear wheel on the back of my 1978 cb750F with the VFR caliper and bracket (and a GS1100 swingarm) and I use the stock 1978 cb750F axle (and most of the spacers). Just to be on the safe side - I would be ready to shell out for rear axle spacers off the same bike. The DOHC uses an offset swingarm and thus has different length spacers. IIRC the bracket is the correct thickness to replace the stock 77-78 one but just in case be prepared to make your own or play mix and match with the SOHC and DOHC rear axle spacers.

Assemblies where 43100-445-634 or 43110-445-632 is used

1981 CB750F A - REAR BRAKE CALIPER
1981 CB900F A - REAR BRAKE CALIPER
1981 CBX A - REAR BRAKE CALIPER
1982 CB750F A - REAR BRAKE CALIPER
1982 CB900F A - REAR BRAKE CALIPER
1982 CBX A - REAR BRAKE CALIPER

It is a common misconception that the rear caliper is the same as the fronts (this might be true for the single puck stock 77-78 calipers). However here is the parts cross over for the rear caliper:

Assemblies where 43101-MA3-006 is used
1981 CB750F A - REAR BRAKE CALIPER
1981 CB900F A - REAR BRAKE CALIPER
1981 CBX A - REAR BRAKE CALIPER
1982 CB750F A - REAR BRAKE CALIPER
1982 CB900F A - REAR BRAKE CALIPER
1982 CBX A - REAR BRAKE CALIPER
1982 FT500 A - REAR BRAKE CALIPER
1983 CB1100F A - REAR BRAKE CALIPER
1983 FT500 A - REAR BRAKE CALIPER

In all honesty though, I have only done 1 rear conversion. I did it because I wanted the calipers to match on the bike, and the rear had gone bad anyway and service parts for the duals are surprisingly cheaper than the single pucks. I didn't feel it added anything to the riding experience, the rear is so undertaxed anyway that the single puck was more than up to the job. It is really so they match and look cool, esp when you paint them gold and then letter the raised honda badge in red (or paint them red and letter honda in white like brembos). If they are just going to be black, it won't stand out enough for people to notice the single puck in the rear and most bikes have different rear calipers than the fronts anyway.

Just a note  and a word of warning

Geetoo Helped me out BIG time. My front's are working fantastically. I just need to get better pads for them (I'm using the ones that came with them and sandblasted them to get some tooth back on them.) My issue was that I had a set of the small brackets that looked right, but were just a half an inch too wide. When I finally found the correct ones (i need to double check that which one exactly... it's in another thread) They fit perfectly.

Now for the word of warning. I'm doing my rear bracket and caliper. Sandblasted the crap outta them (they are so purdy matte grey aluminum) New caliper seals, new pistons. In my case (and maybe others) has the same diameter piston as the fronts (30mm) Parts N' More argued that the smaller ones they sent me were the correct ones, and that they wouldn't do anything about it. Told them I wouldn't do business with them again if they want to really fight such a minimal cost part (at that point I'd spent around 300 dollars with them.) I ended up finding a small kit on ebay which I installed with no problems.
THe point is to check the diameter of the piston bore before you buy your seals and pistons.
