Cut down king/queen seat
« on: May 30, 2011, 12:00:41 AM »
I have one of those big huge king/queen seats, as pictured. I also have a repro cover for a regular K2-K6 seat. Anybody know if the seat pan is the same or very close in size? Has anyone ever cut down one of these monsters to use a different cover?

You might want to post a picture of the bottom of that seat so we can see what the seat pan looks like.

I have been thinking about the same thing. All of the K-G seats I have removed still had the stock seat pan.Maybe a little electric knife work may do the trick. Yours is a little different style though, looks kind of low in the front, may have to build up a little with some good dense foam.Probably best to re laminate new foam on the whole top inch or more to get a good uniform feel. Will post back with one of mine sometime when I give it a go. I'll get a pic of the pan when I get home today.

I could not view your photos for some reason,  I have two of the ugly seats that were on a 400f ::).  The pans were way different than stock pan. Larry

Your pan does not look to be a stock 750 pan. That said though the shape of the foam would mostly dictate the shape of the seat which you would be trying to replicate.

Finally saw the photo, not stock  for sure.   You could reshape the foam and have a custom seat cover made...Larry
