Hello everyone,

Been browsing for a while are here, seems to be a great site.  Recently acquired 3 [yes three] bikes from one add on craigslist.  A '73 500, a '76 550 and a '78 550.  All three have around 20,000 miles and they are in various stages of pieces but the '73 and '76 are pretty complete.  None of them came to me in running condition.  The 550's both turn over, while the 500 is seized.  One 550 motor is in especially good shape [as can be told thus far] and that will be where I start].  My initial goal is to build one cafe style 550, which is why I specifically didn't look for a more complete bike in good shape.

This will be my first bike and first build, though I have ridden a very small amount previously.  I plan to have my project ready to ride for next season, giving me just under a year for completion.  The 500 is pretty much stripped down to frame and engine at this point, while I am trying to get the '76 550 complete enough to get running.  Once it is running, and I have a good platform to start from, I will be taking it down to the frame for a complete build.

I have already learned a lot through all of your projects and questions/answers, so thank you.  I hope that I am able to contribute to some of you as well along the way.

oh, and needless to say, I will have a bunch of parts available in the future  ;)

'75 550F - Resto/mod - Riding - But never really finished...
'76 550K - Cafe build - On hold
'78 550K - Parts - Good engine for another day
'73 500 - Parts - Engine seized
'90 CB-1 - No longer seized! but still title-less
