F2 - new wiring - current dropping
« on: June 22, 2011, 11:43:57 PM »
Hi,
I have rebuild the wiring, new connectors, rebuild the switches....
How can I check (test) the wiring (lights, blinkers,....) wihout the battery? Is it possible to replace the battery with a 12volt transformer and do a complete test?
regards

I hooked up a battery charger to the battery leads of my 550 to test the starter, headlight, taillight, turn signals, marker lights & horn, and ran into no issues while I fixed all the gremlins in my wiring.

Ok, thanx
So I have now a 12v battery in the "system".
When I turn on the ignition (for testing the lights):
- oil is on: ok
- when I put the lightswitch on Park: park + rear light on : ok
- low beam : ok
but... after a few seconds the current is dropping to 2-3 volts. What is going on?
The wiring is stock, except that I have put the Electrex Rectifier Regulator RR24 instead of the old regulator end rectifier.

Any hints?
thanx

If the bike is not running you are draining the battery.Keep it charged.
