help me guys! just been out for a ride (550 f2 totally stock) pulled up at a junction and indicated to turn right and the idicators just came on and remained lit (ie didnt flash). same story both sides (ie left andright). got home and tried it with only pilot light on (i ride with headlight on at all times) indicators worked fine with pilot light or no lights on but with headlight on they wouldnt flash. once id pushed it in to the garage i turned the ignition on and hey presto the indicators worked fine with both pilot and main headlights turned on!! AAAARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! best i can think of is either a faulty relay or bad earth but i cant explain how it could rectify itself in the space of 5 mkinuets after not working all the way home! anybody know any better? :-[

I would say bad flasher or maybe a low battery but I'd lean towards the flasher first. They are super cheap....just a regular 2 pronger from the local parts house. I'd also clean up all of my wire ends and light sockets.......poor connections, bad grounds, etc. can cause problems also.

I couldn't get the stock flasher unit to work consistently with my 750, because the PO put the wrong bulbs in the front (apparently they are a cross-reference, but different wattage?) so I swapped it for a DOT-552 electronic flasher from the local Zone, and now they flash consistently regardless of engine speed.

i fought through similar issues as yours and even spent the money on an electronic flasher to try to get them flashing.  my problem turned out to be the ground connection on the coil mount.  It looked clean at first glance but when I took the coils off to replace the wires, I sanded the frame, the mount itself, and the "loop" connector. I put a dab of grease on all connections when I reinstalled.  They work as they should now.  Do not overlook that ground as I did.

" Why does anyone get offended by what someone does to their own bike? I dont get it. "

You made me think about it after I cheered knowing someone else would like to know what these control freaks are up to.
Every time any owner strips whatever precious Honda part the horrified purists parts go up in value. That's not the part that bothers them.
What bothers them is they sat up late at night, their breast full of wonder and estrogen, unable to sleep, dreaming about their lovely darling and all her glory... and next thing you know someone else doesn't share their emotional deluge and their reaction is they must spread their mind museum as far as they possibly can, taking over as much of the real world as possible.

Dude, screaming on a forum is bad forum. Your problem seems a bit triffle yet you make it sound like bloody murder.
