hondamatic exhaust
« on: June 27, 2011, 07:11:36 PM »
hi, i have a 76 750k and usually don't visit this part of the forum.
i bought a 78 750a recently to part out. it has stock exhaust, which i really like. did some searches, and it sounds like others have had problems installing this system on k models. i was wondering if anybody here has actually done that.
also, what are these exhausts worth in good condition? there are only a couple of stock setups on ebay at the moment and the prices on them don't seem realistic.
these are model hm 393. also, sankei 2026 is stamped on each side, and a notice about them being for pre 1983 bikes only.
i figure if the a pipes are worth anything i should sell them and get something k specific. but if it is possible to swap over and have a decent fit without leaks i'd be interested in putting the time in to make that happen.
thanks for any info on this

Hello.
The diameter of the headers are smaller on the CB750A!
The oilpan on the CB750A is lower than the other CB750 SOHC!
Sell your pipes and buy other pipes to your bike.
I have bought new CB750A pipes on Ebay to 800$/set
and used very good used pipes to 200$/set.
The Hondamatic pipes are very rare, especially good ones :'(

sorry i did sell them - if they would work on a k, it would be a lot of hassle and i knew a guy in this area that needed them.

I would be interested in the wheels from the bike if you still have them.

Thanks,

Rick

hi,
the bike i was talking about earlier had comstar wheels, but i've sold them. i did just find another hondamatic, a 77 with spoke wheels. i'm parting out that bike too - it's complete except on this one the exhaust is missing.
just pm if you're interested. shipping's a factor with anything bulky - my zip is 30619 which is near athens ga
