permanent fuel bung conversion to 22mm
« on: July 02, 2011, 09:00:38 pm »
Well I have primarily lurked in the shadows and gleaned a lot of information from the group for the last 2 years largely because I am a small business owner and have little time:  but thanks to the economy I now have lots of it.  Wanted to know if i could give back somehow so any ideas that you have for things not being made by honda man or that the group needs let me know.   I have made three of these adapters now by hand for my various antique bikes 22mm lets you buy any petcock you want off the shelf so you dont have to spend 128 bucks on a pengle and then another 28 on their adapter that only fits their valve.  I think I could sell these for about $25.00 and could maybe make a master kit allowing you to adapt to any of the old sizes for about $60.00 but it would still only end up producing one bung Thanks guys love this group and love my old bikes (74 cb550, 75 gl100, 76 cb750A, 76 kz400 ) the cb 550 is still my top favorite have owned it since 1985 it sat in my garage for 16 years and then my brothers started bugging me to get a motorcycle

If your adapter would allow the use of a pingle fuel tap then i would be very interested.....possibly 3.... ;)

if the pingle used the 22mm standard then yes but to make an adapter for their 3/8" special fuel valve requiring their proprietary adapter then no it would be a patent infringement

Only if you made it an exact copy, otherwise all is good..... ;)

guys and gals please take the poll so I have the data I need to allow me to use the CNC equipment at my friends factory he would let me sneak a few off but he has a board of directors even though he is the owner so if there is enough call for these he will let me mass produce them in as many versions as I want for cheap but if Do not have the poll results to back up the numbers I will have to produce them by hand like honda man is doing with a lot of his stuff which means longer wait times and possibly more money as they will take longer so please for all our benefit take the poll seriously I am sure that I am not the only person here who knows that after the origional petcocks have been rebuilt a couple of times you need a new one
