Hey all.
I stumbled across a clean '82 Suzuki GS750 for sale and I must say I'm intrigued.
Any opinions?

Not to diss the Hondas or anything, but IMO, the GS750 of that generation was among the finest road bikes made.  Smooth, strong, comfortable, good handling, good looking, reliable.

About the only issue that that vintage GS750 has as an everyday rider is a gimpy stator wiring setup.  But, the issue is well-known and fixes are readily available.  Excellent information and forum support available at http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/index.php

If the particular one you're looking at seems decent enough and priced where you want, etc, I'd pull the trigger in a minute...

Good luck with it, if you do get it.

Kirk

ditto on that.  I did not realize how well a Suzuki was made until I switched from a strictly Honda shop to an all Japanese shop. The  GS line of bikes are all well done...Larry

+1 on what's been said already  ;) The bike you're after..is it an 82' GS750E ? I owned an 82' & the last year 83' GS1100E (still have some parts for them) and they are strong bikes built to last and perform under hard use.If you do purchase it...and when you need to replace the battery(kind of a pain to get at because you need to remove the airbox,etc.)I'll sell you a new battery fluid level sensor that alerts you w/ a warning light for"low battery fluid";it's just a small device that replaces one of the caps on the top of you're battery & then plugs in down there.They don't sell them anymore with the battery and most owners resort to just taking the warning bulb out of the dash pod,but I always loved that feature about the Suz.  :)

You can turn the battery fluid warning light off by simply connecting the wire to battery +

If you turned off the warning light you could easily run the battery dry & never know it..I'd like if my CB had that feature. :)

I was just saying there's no need to remove bulbs to turn the light off if one decides to or has to run a battery without this feature you mentioned.

I have a Yuasa battery in my street-GS and it has the fluid level sensor.

Back to topic... a friend of mine who has been riding GS 1100 Suzuki's since early 80's always says the 750 is almost like a real motorcycle and that the performance compares to a 1100 running on three cylinders  ;D
He has a 1428cc street-Katana so a 750 might feel a bit underpowered  ::)

I had to ferry a friend around for a while on his GS750 because he couldn't insure it. I thought it was a great bike. Felt sturdy and planted with a nice amount of power.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.
