Can anyone help in the ID of this bike?
« on: May 02, 2006, 02:57:02 PM »
Hi Guys,

I am new to the forum, and finding it extremely interesting so far.  I have a CB750K6 that I purchased on Ebay a couple of years ago.  It is sort of an interesting bike in that it supposedly made its way over to Tulsa, OK from Germany with a USAF airman stationed over there in the late '70's.  The guy I bought it from purchased it from him and used it as his daily driver for school.  By the time he sold it the bike was tired and was not really loved, I snatched it for $1K.  I have slowly but surely been bringing it back.  Mechanically it is sound as a fiddle and a blast to romp on.  Cosmetically, it needs more TLC than I have been able to give it so far - but I will get there.

Supposedly the bike was built like this by the dealer.  It came with the red Guiliari seat, all black bodywork, clubman bars and a Kerker 4-into-1.  It had a stock airbox when I got it, but I replaced that with pods and had the carbs rejetted and balanced.  The Speedo is in KPH.  The bike feels much smaller than my '70 K0, so maybe it has been lowered as well.

Here is a link to some pics, and more of my bikes as well.

Thanks for the great site guys, and I look forward to any help for a newbie!

Thanks Mick!  Yes, I have a pretty bad case of insanity.  Amazingly enough, the Guzzi work all the time, the Hondas and the Suzuki are monsters to keep working.  But then again I don;t get to ride them near enough!

Thanks for the feedback.

Very nice bike!
Looks like it has a few K2 parts on it.
The gauges, indicators, grab rail, chain guard and rear light look K2 to me
Also the front forks are from a K1 or K2.
What are the engine and frame numbers?

Hey Scunny,

That s a replica of the Moto Guzzi Factory 8-Cyclinder racer.  It kicked serious tookie in its day.  I wish I could say that it was mine, but that one was selling for $250K in Britain.  There is not a motor beneath all of the dustbin fairing, but a lot of it!

I think there is an article obout the bike at the Italian Moto Guzzi website.  I know the bike is on display at the factory museum.

Take care,
