Open Bike Night-Indy- 10th and Emerson
« on: August 04, 2011, 06:28:48 PM »
Just got back from Vintage bike night at the Steer In, 10th and Emerson. Quite a turnout. Mostly Late 60s British, but some 70s Japs and really quite a bit of everything.

Film at 11 am tomorrow, I think this is a weekly gathering.

Hey I was there!!  Spent most of the time talking with Steve (Tango911) and Gordon (the guy with the really shiny orange CB750.  Guess I should have stopped gawking at all the bikes long enough to recognize people.  Wish I knew you were coning....I would have looked for you.  If you saw the blue VFR, that was mine.

I was kinda looking for you. some guy showed up on a nice 550, thought it might be you, but not tall enough. But you know I have some kind of facial recogntion syndrome where i can't put a name with a face to save my life. I mean i have it really bad, so i need help.  I don't think I've met Steve.

But i certainly didn't see a blue VFR, i can tell bikes. I left about 6:45 and bikes were still coming in. I saw Gordon's CB750 and have a picture of it. he is a Member of MSTA and he was at the River City Ride over the weekend, but on a different bike. I also saw his bike at Brockway Pub in Carmel a few weeks back. yes it is very nice, but i can't help taking a poke at it. The sidecover wing emblems are on backwards.

But his runs and mine doesn't so he wins.  :D

Ah that explains it....I think it was 7 or after before we got there.  You picked a good one to attend....that's probably the biggest turnout I've seen there for a long time.

Chris: Possible correction, if we're talking about the same shiny CB750, guys name is Craig Voris, not Gordon.

I think there was at least one other orange 550 and 750 there (both pretty shiny  ;)).  Gordon's bike was not totally stock....had some aftermarket blinkers and headlight ears, was lowered slightly, and had a black 4-1 exhaust.  He had polished the cases up really nicely (the shiny part) and the bike had beautiful original orange paint.

Oh yeah, I saw that one too. Got a picture, I'll be posting soon. So there were two.
