Just found out I am going to have knee surgery on nov 22nd.This is probally going to complicate things a bit but I am staying positive.It is my right knee so I am glad I decided to keep the electric start.Plus it will give me time to catch up on cafe racer season-2.

the left fork tube is fubar.I am wondering If I can use the fork tubes from a cb 750.They are longer but has anyone had a issue with using them?

Crap i am getting close to halfway of my budget.And still need tires.chain and some other things I have not realized yet.Its gonna be close.

Installed the all balls bearings.Piece of cake.This is my home made tool made from the old races and a piece of pipe.With Little help from a heat gun and a hammer the races installed easy.I put the thinner of the two washer that come with the kit inside of the bottom of the neck before putting in the lower race.Dimensions seem the be good and you do not see the spacer.

Good luck with the surgery.  Do exactly what they tell you to do afterwards.  That is why pro athletics come back when they are supposed to after an injury.

I can not seem to dig up a photo of the Suzuki but I sold it to a friend of mine and I will have him send me one.I kinda regret selling it.It was complete except the seat and looked like it had a lot of potential.Thanks for the advice on the knee.It will be hard to not be out in the garage wrenching or riding while I have time off work.

can you take some close pics of the seat?
How is the quality and what is the name? Nice build so far. Also, I ordered my All bAlls bearings but have yet to put them in due to not getting the frame powder coated yet. Can you tell a difference even though nothing is attached.

I got it from http://stores.eBay.com/Cafe-Bike-Connection?_trksid=p4340.l2563 .I like the quality and fit but have not decided on how I want to mount it .The bearings/races seem to feel a 100% better,but the originals were real bad and the grease in the old bearings was like dried up peanut butter.

Well surgery is over.They ended up removing around 30% of my meniscus.It sucks but I can still order parts.I got some braided brake lines for $52 from http://slingshot-cycles.com.Great quality and fast shipping highly recommend.Next steps are gonna be prep the engine for paint and try to get in place in the frame without having to get another surgery.
remaining balance -$383
Still need tires, wheel bearings gonna be close.

Wow I am impressed with this rust destroyer I found.Works great I let the shocks sit in a bath overnight and magic.I am gonna use some CB 750 shocks the springs are beefier and same length as originals..

Nope your problems may not be over.
Motorcycles sold in high elevations have different jetting from the factory. Places like Denver for instance.
It is not that hard to tune carbs.
Many times the shop manual lists the jetting for high elevation cities.

You cannot get everything in the world by just pushing a button.
Even though you may have grown up that way.

Thanks for the info.It takes time and a lot of test drives and checking your plugs but super easy.Oh and your for your other questions the meniscus is the bow shaped piece of cartilage between your joint,It does not have much or any blood flow through it so once you tear it the damgaged area needs to be removed to keep it from lodging it self in your joint and causing it to interfere with movement of the knee.Its main purpose is to absorb shock and keep from having bone to bone contact.Wow that sound's kinda bad lets keep our minds out of the gutter :P.

I put your photo of the yellow frame into Photoshop and got rid of some of that green and tried to get more yellow into it.
The photo was taken partly in direct sunlight and partly in the shadow so it was difficult. Best I could do .
At least it is now a JPG instead of a PNG file so it will load 10 times faster.

will be watching your build.i have a 74 550,but wont be doing anything until spring.my uncle gave me a parts bike for my 350 cl a few years ago,and noticed i was looking at the few old hondas he had buired in his garage.time came when he needed a new heater and had to make some room.he gave me the bike (well a frame with a motor in it a title a front end and lots of really good parts of a few to put one together).for now im just going to keep reading and learning and wait for the ice fishing season.

Ice fishing seems like it would be fun.I was just looking at the special ice fishing tents that are insulated and have a open floor at Scheels.Funny you mentioned it.Oh ya I have a 74 CB 550 K parts bike if you are looking for some parts someday let me know I might have em, and for dirt cheap or possibly  free.
