550 cam tensioner differences
« on: May 04, 2006, 12:38:01 PM »
should there be a significant difference in the bow of the cam tensioner between a 74 550k and a 76 550k?  Or could one just be worn out.  I left the pics at home I will bring tomorrow if this can not be answered quickly.  I put the cases back together last night , on the 74 550, for the second time. all went well. I was looking at the two tensioners though  and there was a big difference in them  so I stopped.

Check and see if there is a rubber tube over the tensioner spring. They are probably different lengths ( if they both have them) either shorten or remove it ( as per Honda bulletin?????)
