74 cb750 carborator problems
« on: April 29, 2005, 02:20:03 PM »
Hello. Yes, before you ask I just did spend a great deal of time looking at the former posts in the carb section. My carbs were just rebuilt. Tank is clean and filled with gas, new lines/filters without air. The problem: the center carborators are empty. No fuel at all. Any ideas.?

If its like a 72/73 then one fuel line feeds 1+2 and one fuel line feeds 3+4. There are two pipes that connect the fuel lines to the carbs. (makes a "T"). Assuming its assembled correctly. If 1 and 4 are recieving fuel then 2 and 3 should as well.

This leads me to believe you have to have a problem with float needles or float height. If fuel is getting to the outboard carbs as above.

You may have assembled the floats in 2+3 and got them stuck in the up position, cutting off the fuel to them. Didn't put'em in upside down did you?

I pulled the bowls off 2 & 3, they are bone dry.  :-\ It was such a pain in the a$$ to get these back on the bike....would it be the "T" connector is plugged. I could have sworn I blew it out before I assembled these 4 years ago.
