A proud new CB owner and new forum member
« on: May 05, 2006, 09:48:16 AM »
Hello,

I am a new member as of today.  Yesterday, I became the owner of a 1972 CB 750.  I have never owned a Honda motorcycle before, nor an inline four.  I anticipate having plenty of questions to bounce off the members of this forum in the up coming weeks as I begin to restore the bike.  Currently, my CB is in pretty good shape.  The previous owners we kind enough to keep a detailed maintenance log.  The bike has 28K original miles.  The bike was originally orange but it was repainted black- bummer.  It has 2 into 1 exhaust because the old exhaust rusted out.  It is in need of the following items:  Brake and clutch cables, a new seat, new slip-on mufflers, new side covers – they are both cracked.  A few of its bits and pieces have been replaced over the years, but not with original parts.  I’d like to bring as much of the bike back to stock as my wallet will allow.

Anyway, I look forward to chatting with everyone.

Welcome, always good to see/hear from a new member. Sounds like your 750 is in better shape than some  ::). Post a pic in the new gallery when you get a chance.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

ProTeal55,

Wow, I thought that I wanted to see my CB back to its original form, but your bobber jobber is awesome.  We need to talk!  My Sportster was a bobber conversion and I always had somone wanting to buy her.  I finally caved when I got married.  What a mistake!  Selling the bike was the mistake, not the marriage.  Thanks for the invite guys.

Yeah sure I'll shoot you a personal email.  Thanks.  I have been looking around for 72 parts - man, they aren't easy to find!  I need exhaust recommendations.  My megaphones need to be replaced.

Always nice to see a new rider joining the forum. The bright side of the paint thing is now you can paint her any color you want. Make her your dream color.

Nice to see you got a K2. Good thing you did not end up with one of those geriatric K8's
