Tire Suppliers in Canada
« on: August 19, 2011, 05:51:42 PM »
Looking to buy DUNLOP K70 / K81 TT100 vintage tires for my k1.  The Canadian dollar being stronger than the US I naturally looked south but the shipping was close to $70 plus the possibility of paying duty kills the deal.  The best price I can find for the 3.25-19 front is $105 and 4.10-18 is $146 plus taxes her in Canada.  Anyone know of some good Canadian stores with competitive prices?  These are close to $131 for both in the US.

I'm not sure if Pete's can get the K70/K81 TT100's but give him a call.

He does stock Dunlop Tires.

Agreed. Pete may not list them on his website but give him a call and he can tell you right away how much they are. I only buy my tires from him now.

I checked out his website this afternoon because I heard good things about his shop.  Didn't see it on the website so I figured he doesn't carry them.  I'll give him a call tomorrow.  I heard he's quick with deliveries too.

Thanks for the replies guys.

If he can get the tire it will be in his shop the next day. Then it's overnight delivery. You order it Monday it should be there by Wednesday.

For two tires shipped anywhere in Ont it's 20 bucks I think.

Prospect, your Canadian prices are much better than I could find in Victoria, B.C. A pair of TT100's were going to be over $400 if I bought them here. I ended up shopping in the US here http://www.americanmototire.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=33_120_592

I got my Bridgestones at Flying Squirrel Motorcycles http://fsmotorcycle.com/ on Carlaw this spring. Glen's prices were great and he is a neat guy. I don't know if he can get Dunlop but might be worth a try?

Yes Glenn does have great prices. I almost exclusively use him for all my non CB specific parts but he was on vacation until today.  I got my tires from GPbikes in Whitby.  They had a sale so I picked them up.  When I asked them how much to install they said $120 which I thought was waaay too steep.  Also, I don't think they have any bikes in their service department that are older than 5 years.  They probably wouldn't know where to start or even want to do it.

For installation Glen of FS Motorcycle (to his credit) suggested Rosy Toes Motorcycles http://dontai.com/oldsite/roseytoes/.

Ted Rose is a character and he did very nice work with a great attitude. His shop is busy yet he charged me only $20 to install and balance my new tire from Flying Squirrel.
