Float bowl drain screws - K0 carbs?
« on: August 15, 2011, 07:32:41 PM »
Hi! On the early K0 carbs the float bowl drain screw has a small slotted head. On another incomplete set I have the drain screws are similar to the K1's, a much larger head, are these correct for later K0 carbs?
Thanks,
Cliff.

Just took a look at my KO & K1 and both are the smaller slotted. The larger ones you are talking about came out in later bikes. My K4 has the larger ones and my guess would be those started around the 72 K2 models but those guys can chip in for sure.

Cliffy...I think it was a case of putting on what was at the factory at the time. My KO is 1/70 and my K1 is 9/70 both with the small.

If you cant find them, may be able to make them.
Rather than risk buggering them up, easier to pop the bowl.. I think..

Hi Frank! Yamiya has them but with shipping they come top $15 each! The float bowls are different for the smaller screws as well. The area at the drain is smaller, about the size of the head of the smaller screws. I guess I'll have to keep an eye for some to pop up. Of course not many people would spot them except for those answering here.
Cheers,
Cliff.

Good info.  That means I have three that are correct and one that is not.  As opposed to needing to replace three and keep one, which is my normal luck.   ::)

I should learn to look at my reference books before posing a question!!! There's the answer on pages 34 and 35 (and several more) of John Wyatt's book "Original Honda CB750". The answer is both sizes of screws came on the K0 carbs. My apologies men!
