Finally a good deal!!!
« on: August 24, 2011, 10:20:34 am »
I was looking for pod filters and found this.
http://www.newmotorcycleparts.com/fuel_system_parts/air_filters/pod_air_filters.html
Scroll down on the page.

Pod filters + jets to go with them.

$ 58.00 for the filter SET!!! With the jets!!!

Some scoundrels are selling them for $50 each on some websites.
I will buy more from this site.
I feel like I really got value for my money.

These are not K&N filters. I don't have any experience with the ones you are showing here but I do know the K&N's are pricey as compared to some of the knock offs out there. Mine were $160 per set of 4 from Dennis Kirk and that was around 5 years ago. Also......you may find the jets they supply won't be what you need. It depends on other things like altitude, compression, big bore, etc. You will have to experiment to find the parts and adjustments to get full performance outa your bike.

Sometimes, "cheap" includes every meaning of the word, rather than just the one you wished for.

Lucky - let me know how the pod/jet combo works for you. I've purchased a few things from CRC2 (turn signals, headlight assembly) and have been pleased with the value. Only question mark for me is what material they used for the jets. Hard to tell from the photo, but I'd be concerned if they're made out of aluminum or some other relatively soft metal, as the jets would probably wear way too fast.

I wished the jets WERE made out of aluminum or steel. Less corrosion.

Brass and aluminum together is a bad combination for corrosion.

The jets supplied were #120's and were quality made brass jets.

BTW...Abby rider, I kept the jets but decided to use velocity stacks.
I knew I would need bigger mains anyway.
