Two Questions: Brake Light - & - Brake Lines
« on: May 06, 2006, 06:28:05 PM »
First Question:  I continually am blowing my rear taillight bulb (actually, only the filament for the taillight, not the brakelight).  I first checked the ground and made sure it was good, then I mounted a thin rubber washer between my taillight backplate and its mount underneath my seat (custom seat, aftermarket light), but it still keeps blowing out.  Am I still getting too much vibration back there, or could there still be an electrical gremlin in the mix?  I even made sure the bulb socket was clean.  Thoughts??

Second Question:  I am replacing my stock rubber front brake hose with braided stainless, and despite my searching of the archived posts, I can't figure out what size I need.  Length I have figured out, but nowhere in my manuals does it give the size of the banjo fittings.  In catalogs and online, there are listings of 10mm, 12mm, and 3/8".  I will rule out the 3/8" because these bikes are Metric, but how do I figure out which size I need?  I will be getting new hoses, banjo fittings, and a new bolt to go into the MC/Lever housing.  Thoughts?

Check battery terminals are tight. Check all the connectors for corrosion. I think they can act as a capacitor and allows voltage surges when the internal resistance of connector is overcome (regulator is switching on and off about 60 times a second, averages 14 volts to battery but....) I've been told that in theory it isnt possible for this to happen (but bumble bees cant fly either)
