Help with Shocks
« on: May 08, 2006, 04:43:23 AM »
Okay I've read through old posts about rear shocks. I want to replace those on my cb750f1. Sounds like Progressive 12 series shocks would be a good choice. However I checked accwhse.com as mentioned by a few members but I can't determine which
ones to order. I also would want new springs. I weigh 170lbs and rarely ride two up...Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

I ordered the shocks. They now are $182. and the springs are  $62.

BTW the post you referenced shows the manuf. # for the shocks as 12204b it is actually 121204b.

Jim

P.S.  Still get up to Saugerties?

Did you order the right ones?

From the site above

(16815)   $123.95 Progressive 12 Series Shocks w/out Springs Pair 13" Mfg.#: 121204B   The 412 Series are $182..

I try to get up there as much as possible.  But I've been pretty busy and haven't been up in a few months.  My brother and I are planning on riding up sometime in either May or June.  I usually trailer my cb up there as I like having a car when I get there and 200+ miles on the 550 is a killer for one day.

Well I went back to the website and sure enough if you look up the shocks under products the price comes up $123. but if you look up the same shocks by manufacturers number the price comes up as $182.. So I called them on the phone to ask about this
and was told that website is not operational  (even though I was looking at it while I'm speaking to them).. Anyway they promised
me a phone call tomorrow...As I'm typing this I get a call from Motorcycle Accessory Wharehouse telling me they have my order
and the price for the shocks is $123.95 and the springs is $48.95.  The rep also said that the accwhse.com website should not be
used any longer because it is not operational (duh) and to use mawonline.com instead..

Glad the prices worked out for you.  Did you get black or chrome springs.  I'm running black on black setup and looks nice and racey.  Kinda wish I ordered chrome for the vintage look though.  I have a set of 75/120 spring new in the box in black too.  Just in case I feel like a lighter spring rate.  I may ebay them though.

$50 for the Boge  ;D  Maybe not quite as good as the new Progressives (maybe - I don't know) but good enough for me.

I chose the black springs.. Two less things to polish = more time to ride...
