Fuel Petcock
« on: September 08, 2011, 04:38:02 PM »
Folks,

I find myself in a bit of a bind.  I've been working on a 1978 CB750A that has sat for 30 years. Its a low mile bike that after some polish, paint and some miner fender seat work is starting to come together nicely.  I' got it running using a external gas tank, but once I reinstalled to real gas tank I found that the fuel Petcock leaks.  I guess the insides of the old Petcock dried out and no longer seal.  I tried ordering a new one from "Westen Cycle" but they could not find one.  Does anyone know where I can score a new Petcock?

Thanks,  Fran

I got one for my 78 CB750K from this guy, you could try him: hondanut@comcast.net his name is Doug Sheldon. Don't remember how I found it, googling, I think.

I bought a new one on ebay - although it was for a 76, 77.  The difference is the direction the hose goes from the petcock (right or back).  I just used a little more fuel line.  I paid about $30.

Having said this, I realized I have one that goes back, and one that goes right like you said. Assuming one is from a 75K and one a 77K. But I also have this,

Anyone know if this is stock? The other two I have are much more simple and dont have any markings like this on them.

sorry for the thread jack
