Vintage style Race/Cafe Fairing
« on: May 10, 2006, 10:13:06 AM »
I've got a 1978 750F SS in need of some restoration/upgrade/individuality. I'd like to know where to find a vintage looking full fairing that fits the bill. I've seen Mark M's CR750 Daytona/Mann bike replica (great bike Mark) and love the look. I don't want to go with a solo seat or the oversize tank but I can't get the look and the lines of that bike out of my mind. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've searched the web and all I can find is the windscreen type and the ones for bikes the manufacturers are selling this millennium.

Thanks for the info Steve. I'm a newbie and trying to get the hang of the forum. Finally got around to posting under Newbies Start Here. I hope to get allot from SOHC 4 and I hope to give some back.

Google "Glass From The Past" and "Airtech"

I got this fairing from Ebay. Airtech sells it as their "large cafe fairing". It's made so you don't have to drop the clipons as low as with the cr750 fairing. The bulges fit around the cylinders well, but I'm cutting a hole for the generator cover to tuck the fairing in closer. You also have to move your pegs back, unless you want to cut the fairing. It's just taped on in this pic, placement isn't exact yet.Jimmy

Thanks. I've got a color picked out (from when I worked as a painter) called Inferno Red Pearl Metallic. The majority of the bike will be that color and I'll have pearl white "graphics" (still deciding on scheme, going for a vintage racer look). Jimmy
