Topic: Got new ignition,coil,and wires on!

So i got in my parts from Z1 today, i was surprised to, the tracking thing said it would be delayed.

Installation was a snap, got the electronic ignition in(wayyyyy easier than i had thought)
Threw on the new 3ohm coils(wayy easy also)
And poped in the wires(about as easy as it can be i guess)

First try it started right up, alot faster than it did with the old points.

So heres my question, now that i have all this(header,ignition,coils,copper wires,pods) i know i need to rejet(one size up?)
Do i need to run different plugs?
And can i set my timing the same as i do with my cars? use the #1 or #4 cylinder and aim the light through that hole in the plate and line up to two little marks with the notch? Thats how i did it, it seems okay, just wanna be sure i did it right.

I would strongly suggest reading your plugs before you assume you need to re jet...how does it run now?...what do the plugs look like?...It's a common assumption that because you change pipes and this and that, you need to "go bigger"...some early Honda came too rich from factory,so some mods make the carbs just right...I 'm telling you this though personal experience...my thinking was "go big" and it was total wrong

alright, ill check the manual, it usually says how to read them right? Still feels kinda weak at the low rpm but throttle response has like doubled

Ditto what cd811 said. The 500, especially, tended to come out of the factory rich. Don't fool with the carbs until you've done some plug chops and gotten a good idea how it's running.
