« on: May 12, 2006, 10:29:17 AM »
Does anyone know the diameter of the front axle?  I need to know to get new bearings...

Thanx!

What bike? I am buying new fronts later today for my 74 550K. I'll post the bearing #.

I think those bearing numbers can be pretty easily determined from some mail order catalogs like Dennis Kirk, JCW or Chaparral.
I assume that you are buying from a local bearing house, thats OK.
If you get the bearing number, you won't need to know that axle diameter, or you can determine it easily if you need to.

Just curious, how will the axle diameter help you without the OD and width of the bearing?

Maybe he's making a trailer hitch towing adapter...I been thinking of that myself...but I don't think I need bearings...just a hole through my receiver...

Anyone ever try that??? I've seen the semi-ramp ones on the Web...too expensive...

Just put the new ones in my front hub, Koyo 63092-2RS.  The old ones where 63092-RS, the only difference is my new ones are 2 shield (dust cap on both sides) instead of single shield (dust cap on one side).  I don't know if its the same for the 750 but I think it is, I just took the number off the old bearing, and Bobs your uncle. ;D
