Making a fender brace and fender

I bought a plastic fender but wanted it on a stiff mounting. Here is how I did it.
The bottom photo shows the fender, and the fender mount has been painted gloss black to blend right in with the fender.

Looks terrific, lucky. How did you fix the new fender to the brace? And did you fab the speedo cable bracket yourself?
